Tomica Limited Vintage NEO LV-N89d Hino HE366 Tractor + Antico ASZ022 Car Transporter Orange

The first post in this blog where I actually write something :)

I have been collecting 1/64 diecast cars for about three years now. What drew me into this hobby was the highly detailed Tomica Limited Vintage cars I saw in a shop. Before that I always thought diecast cars were just main line Hot Wheels and Tomica's. I had no idea there was a segment for the adult collector. I have always liked cars (who doesn't) and TLVs are perfect for collecting. The slippery track towards collecting diecast cars began. No other hobby has taken as much of my time, and money, as this.

When I started out I went looking for resources on the web to help me in my hunt for what to collect. Of all the sites out there, there was one which to me stood out above all others. Minicar Pics 1/64 by a6m5. The photos he puts up and the write ups are from a collector who is clearly very passionate about his hobby. a6m5 is also a member of GTPlanet and was active in the 1/64 Model Collectors Thread. I say was active as sadly he has retired from collecting diecasts and has moved onto other more interesting things.

This post is dedicated to a6m5, as without his blog and also conversing with him on GTP, I don't think I would have committed as much of my time. Thanks a6m5! (but my wallet says damn you 3000!)

I too am retiring from diecast collecting. I have reached a crossroad in my life and there will be more important things to contend with. This post is also a farewell post hence the write up. I still have a few cars to take photos of and upload here so it won't be the last just yet. But I don't know if and when I will get back into this hobby and if I do add anything to this blog it will be photos of cars I already have. In fact I have more cars I haven't taken photos of than I have.

So, why the title of the TLV LV-N89d? The TLV Ferrari F40 was a blowout release and deservedly so. One of TLV's best releases ever, if not the best. I had preordered two in the red colour in anticipation it was going to be special. And it didn't disappoint. After receiving them I wanted more and immediately thought about a blog post by a6m5. Here he recreated the scenes from the LV-N89a release and it is awesome.

That gave me the inspiration for this post. Why not recreate it using the F40?!? And recreate the LV-N89d scenes as well! After hunting down five yellow F40 and the other three red F40 I am able to now recreate those scenes.

Enjoy!!
